Abstract: This study investigates the impact of project management methodologies on project success, aiming to: 1) identify which methodologies most significantly contribute to project success, 2) evaluate the effectiveness of different methodologies in diverse project environments, and 3) determine the best practices for implementing these methodologies. A survey design was employed to collect data, as it allows for the gathering of comprehensive information from a large sample, ensuring diverse perspectives and robust conclusions. The sample size of 400 respondents was derived using Taro Yamane’s formula, ensuring a reliable representation with a 95% confidence level and 5% margin of error. The case study focused on the construction industry in Abuja, a sector where effective project management is crucial. The reliability coefficient score of the survey instrument was 0.87, indicating high reliability. Findings revealed that agile and hybrid methodologies are the most effective in achieving project success, particularly in dynamic and complex environments. Recommendations include adopting a flexible approach to project management methodologies, incorporating continuous training, and fostering an adaptive project culture to enhance overall project outcomes.
